Stress is a feeling of strain and pressure. Stress is actually a normal physical response to the events that make you feel threatened. Small amounts of stress may be desired, beneficial, and even healthy. Positive stress helps improve athletic performance. When you sense danger whether it’s real or imagined, the body’s defence kicks into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” reaction, or the stress response. It also plays a factor in adaptation, and reaction to the environment. Excessive amounts of stress, however, may lead to bodily harm. Stress can increase the risk of strokes, heart attacks, ulcers, dwarfism, and mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety etc.,

What is our body reaction when you are stressed?

When body perceives a critical situation, the nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol. This actually prepares your body to be more alert. However, when stress becomes a regular phenomenon, high levels of cortisol can show several detrimental effects on body. Increased cortisol level is associated with high blood pressure, sugar imbalance, muscle stiffness, and increased heart rate. These physiological effects lead to health issues like head ache, low immunity, sleep disorders, hypertension, diabetes etc.,
